Antifriction carbon material AG1500 (CO5, B83)

Anti-friction carbon material AG1500

Products from AG1500 are used for the manufacture of friction units of machines and units operating without lubrication and under conditions of quiet or smoothly varying load. For example, O-rings for the shafts of turbo-expander units (working medium – nitrogen), liners of plain bearings and face seal rings of centrifugal pumps (medium – liquid gases, gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel, fuel oil), O-rings of hydraulic pumps (medium – oil), etc.

For details of material AG-1500, the recommended counterbody material is steel of all grades and hardness, chrome coating; the maximum permissible specific pressure is 10-15 kgf / cm2, the maximum permissible speed is 30 m / s.

The permissible operating temperature during the operation of products made of materials AG-1500 and AG-600 is:

  • in an oxidizing environment 400-450 °C;
  • in reducing and neutral environments 2300-2500 °C.

The amount of wear at the maximum permissible specific pressures and speeds under dry friction in air at room temperature for 100 hours of operation is no more than 50 microns.

Graphite-lead materials AG1500-CO5

They are used for the manufacture of parts of friction units operating in dry, semi-dry and liquid friction conditions with a quiet or smoothly varying load (compressor O-rings, liners, pump sliding bearings, etc.). For parts made from the specified materials, the recommended counterbody material is cast iron, steel, chrome plating; maximum permissible specific pressure 20-25 kgf/cm²; maximum permissible speed 25 m/s. The permissible operating temperature during the operation of products made of these materials in oxidizing, reducing and neutral environments is 300 °C. The amount of wear at maximum permissible specific pressures and speeds under dry friction in air at room temperature for 100 hours of operation is no more than 30 microns. Lead-based materials are recommended for dry friction on steels and chrome plating. Lead-graphite materials are not recommended for work on non-ferrous metals and their alloys. The recommended surface roughness of the counterpart should be Ra 0.12.
When operating these grades of materials in dry friction mode, intensive heat removal is required.

AG1500-B83 graphite-babbit materials

They are used for the manufacture of parts of friction units operating in dry, semi-dry and liquid friction conditions with a quiet or smoothly varying load (sealing rings, mechanical seals, sleeve bearings of compressors, pumps, etc.). For parts made from the specified materials, the recommended counterbody material is cast iron, steel, chrome plating; maximum allowable pressure 15-20 kgf/cm²; maximum permissible speed 20 m/s. The permissible operating temperature during the operation of products made of these materials in oxidizing, reducing and neutral environments is 230 °C. The amount of wear at maximum permissible specific pressures and speeds under dry friction in air at room temperature for 100 hours of operation is no more than 30 microns. Graphite-babbit materials are not recommended for work on non-ferrous metals and their alloys. The recommended surface roughness of the counter part should be Ra.0.12.
